Elizabeth J. “Betty” Melby, age 78, of Chaska, died August 26, 2012 at her daughter’s home in New Prague.  Betty was born in Grand Rapids, MN on February 11, 1934 to Theodore M. & Marion E. (Kraski) Matheson.  She married Lloyd C. Melby in Minneapolis on August 18, 1956.  Betty loved picnics, family gatherings, Sunday rides, shopping, & nature.

Betty is survived by children: Linda Melby, Debra (& Jeff) Melby, Cindy (& Gregory) Torgerson, Kellie Melby, Lisa (& Anthony) Ess, John Melby; siblings: Roly (& Sam) Toy, Beverly Mulroy, Michael Roy, Randy Roy; 6 grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband on April 20, 1993; son-in-law: Emil Kubiszewski; sister, Patricia.
