Duane Bohnsack, age 59, of Medina, North Dakota, died Friday, August 3, 2012 at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis. Duane was born December 2, 1952 in New Prague to Ralph W. and Mary Evelyn (Lloyd) Bohnsack. He was raised in rural Le Sueur, graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran High School in Fargo and attended North Dakota State University. He owned and operated Stonegate Pet Superstore in Grand Forks, ND for 38 years. He was married to Karen (Twedell) Bohnsack for 32 years. Duane enjoyed woodworking, fishing, ham radio, model railroading, playing cards, and gardening (both vegetables & flowers). He used to show horses and in retirement, drove farm tractors.
Duane is survived by Karen of Grand Forks, son, Dan (& Alysia) Bohnsack of Royal Oak, MI; grandson, Preston Bohnsack; sister-in-law, Darlys Bohnsack Miller of Detroit Lakes, MN; good friends, Barney & B. J. He is preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Lloyd R., Gary T., and Dean W.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church in rural Henderson, MN. Visitation will occur 1 hour prior to services also at church. Burial will be at the church cemetery followed by a lunch at church.
