Dorothy M. Mader, age 88, of Minneapolis, died on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield.  Dorothy was born on November 19, 1930 in Trebon, Shieldsville Township, Rice County, Minnesota to Henry & Emily E. (David) Mader. Dorothy was raised on farms in the St. Patrick/Webster/New Prague area, attended county district school, and left home as a young adult to work at the St. Paul Seminary.  She spent the majority of her life as the regional director of New England Life Insurance Company, covering an 8-state area. After retiring from there, she spent the last ten years of employment with National Benefit Resources. Dorothy loved gardening and was an avid traveler.  She was good hearted and a strong woman, who forged a life of independence and hard work.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Jon Mader of Minneapolis; granddaughter, Victoria Mader; brother, Wayne Mader of Montgomery; sister-in-law, Gladys Mader of Lonsdale.   She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Roman, Robert, Harvey, Norbert, & Marlin (in infancy).

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.  Visitation will take place Friday morning from 9 – 10:30 at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.  Burial will occur at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
