Delores “Babe” Pumper, age 82, of New Prague, died Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, surrounded by her family, after a valiant struggle with multiple health issues. Babe was born June 30, 1933, in New Prague to Theophil “T.M.” and Bessie A. (Novak) Kajer. She attended St. Wenceslaus School and graduated from New Prague High School. She married Francis “Fritz” Pumper on May 22, 1954, in New Prague and lived her entire life as a dedicated mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus CCW and the American Legion Auxiliary and a faithful volunteer at Mala Strana. Babe loved playing cards, sewing, knitting, and gardening. She loved cooking, particularly kolacky and zelnicky and was noted for her beef jerky.
Babe is survived by her husband, Fritz; children, David (& Theresa) of New Prague, Susie (& David) McCollister of New Prague, Jane (& Michael) Bisek of New Prague, Diane (& Rick) Giesen of New Prague, Julie (& Robert) Oeffling of Buffalo, MN, Mary (& Timothy) Carlson of New Market, Mark (& Stacey) of Aylett, VA, Sara (& Mark) Parriott of Webster, Neil (& Julie) of New Prague, Nathan (& Regina) of New Prague; sister, Shirley Meyer of New Prague; sister-in-law, Marie Kajer of New Prague; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Glenn Kajer; sister, Grace Hudson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015, at 11:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Church with Father Kevin Clinton officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 – 8 PM and Saturday morning from 7:30 – 10:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home. There will be a Legion Auxiliary Service at 6:50 PM and CCW rosary at 7 PM on Friday. Burial will occur after Mass at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery followed by lunch at the Legion Clubroom.
