Delores J. Hoffman, age 95 of Belle Plaine formerly of New Prague, died Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 6 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 5 at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague, and will continue Friday morning from 7:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will be in St. Benedict Cemetery in Helena Twp., Scott Co.

Delores was born on April 26, 1922 to Jacob and Frances (Gerardy) Odenthal in Heidelberg.  She attended country school in Heidelberg.  She married Adelbert “Al” Hoffman on May 23, 1950 at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Heidelberg.  They moved to New Prague in 1975.

Delores enjoyed quilting for church missions, and for her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed listening to old time music, flower gardening, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.  Delores was strong in her faith and was very connected with her church.

Delores is survived by her children, Jonila (Victor) Weiers of Jordan, Kevin Hoffman of Montgomery, Curt (Ellen) Hoffman of New Prague, Arlys Hoffman (Gary Shimota) of Le Center, Myra Hoffman (Rodney Riesgraf) of New Prague, Jerrol (Patty) Hoffman of New Prague, Lori (Rick) Meger of Le Center, Larry (Ann) Hoffman of Belle Plaine, and Joe (Arlene) Hoffman of New Prague; 32 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Al in ’86; siblings, Leander, Eugene, Roman, Leo, Willy, Ladonna, and Madonna.
