David B. Hamer, age 58, of New Prague, died suddenly on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at his home.  David was born December 27, 1958, in New Prague to John F. and Dorothy P. (Shea) Hamer.  He was raised in New Prague and graduated from New Prague High School.  He worked as a maintenance technician for ConAgra for 31 years and most recently, at Hearthside Food Solutions in Lakeville.  After retiring, he started painting again, an avocation as a watercolor artist that he started in his younger years.  He was a proud member of the Northfield Arts Guild.  Dave enjoyed any kind of tinkering that involved using his hands or had engines – woodworking, inventing, cars, motorcycles.  He was a man of many talents!

David is survived by his fiancé, Laurie Simon of New Prague; daughter, Melissa (Michael) Asmondy of  Hales Corners, WI; son, Brandon Hamer of Eagan, MN; grandchildren, Elise, Harper & Miles; sister, Sharon (Paul) Fresia of Clearwater, FL; brothers, Mark Hamer (Karen Kaiser) of  Woodbury, MN, Paul (Barbara) Hamer of Minneapolis, MN.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Bruzek Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Bolin officiating.  Visitation will take place 2 hours prior to service, from 10 – Noon.  Lunch will follow the service at the KC Hall.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Northfield Arts Guild.
