Daniel (Dan) Young LaBelle of New Prague, MN passed away unexpectedly on August 9, 2026. Dan was one of five children to Joseph and Ann (Kelly) LaBelle. He was a graduate of Mounds View High School and Winona State University. After college, he began his career with ADC Telecommunications, where he met the love of his life and future wife, Stephanie (Sinclair). Together they built a life filled with adventure, love, laughter, and family.

Dan was a lifelong learner. Recently he discovered a curiosity and passion for birdwatching. His interest grew to becoming a member of the Minnesota Birding Society Facebook group. An avid outdoorsman, Dan found joy and peace in nature. Whether he was fishing on one of the many MN lakes or trout fishing on the freshwater streams of Southeastern MN, he was in his element when outdoors. He and his family spent time hiking through various state parks and camping with friends. Dan’s adventurous spirit went beyond the trails and lakes. He enjoyed participating in various running races and took pride in placing within his age group. With his family, they traveled making many lasting memories to places like Monterey, Cocoa Beach, and San Diego.

Dan proudly served his country in the National Guard for six years. While on active duty, he was stationed in Guatemala and spent time in Norway for training. Dedication and responsibility were values he carried throughout his life. Professionally, Dan built a career spanning over 20 years with Nonin Medical, where he served as Senior Manager of Technical Services and Operational Quality.

Dan found great joy in playing pickleball. Through the sport he developed many friendships within the tight-knit pickleball community. He loved both the competition and the camaraderie, never missing a moment to brag about a well-executed ATP (Around the Post) shot! Dan was a passionate cook who found great pride and joy in cooking for those he loved. Gathering of friends and family who enjoyed his meals brought great happiness.

Above all else, Dan’s proudest achievement was his family. He was a devoted husband and a loving father to his three children: Veronica, Vincent, and Ivy. He appreciated all the moments shared with them- from the biggest of moments to the smallest of moments; whether it was cheering from the sidelines at wrestling meets, soccer games, and trapshooting competitions, or simply enjoying the gift of time together going on daily evening family walks. Dan’s love for his wife Steph and their children ran deep and time spent with them brought immense joy.

Dan is preceded in death by his father, Joseph LaBelle, father-in-law Jerry Sinclair, and brother-in-law & best friend Nathan Rollinger. He is survived by his wife Stephanie (Sinclair) LaBelle, daughters Veronica and Ivy, son Vincent, mother-in-law Diane (Gricius) Sinclair, sister-in-law Jennifer (Travis) Turek, brothers-in-laws Nicholas (Laura) Sinclair and Andrew (Heather) Sinclair, sisters Maria (LaBelle) Rollinger and Jennifer (LaBelle) Shetaye, brothers David (Julie) and Ben (Mihwa) LaBelle, and many nieces and nephews.

Stephanie and her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the family, friends, and community members who have wrapped their arms around them with love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20th from 4:00-7:00 PM at Bruzek Funeral Home, 610 Main St. E., New Prague, MN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 21st, at 10:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, 215 Main Street East, New Prague, MN. Fr. Eugene Theisen will celebrate Mass and military honors will be conducted by the New Prague Veteran's Honor Guard immediately after Mass outside the church.

A luncheon will follow the service at The Park Ballroom, 300 Lexington Avenue South, New Prague, MN.

Dan’s life was grounded by love, curiosity, adventure, and commitment to family. For all those who knew and loved him, memories of Dan’s kindness, laughter, and dedication will provide lasting memories and comfort.
