Clarence N. Ruehling, age 78, of New Prague died Saturday May 23, 2015 at Abbott-NW Hospital, Minneapolis. Clarence was born December 10, 1936 in Helena Township, Scott County, MN to Wilbert A. and Dorothy M (Hartwig) Ruehling. He attended Scott County district school and was a lifelong resident of the New Prague area. Clarence served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1965 and then on May 6, 1967 married Angela A. Bisek in New Prague. Besides working as Head Custodian at the New Prague Middle School, Clarence worked as at Utility Linesman for the New Prague Municipal Utilities, drove truck for Ralph Seurer, worked in grounds maintenance at Creeks Bend Golf Course, and also served as a farm hand for the Meyers Farms. Clarence was a league bowler and enjoyed fishing and woodworking in his shop. He traveled to Branson, Missouri frequently and enjoyed watching old westerns and RFD TV Network programs.
Clarence is survived by his daughter LeeAnn Ruehling of New Prague; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Julia Bisek of Minneapolis, Jules “Sonny” Bisek of New Prague, Bill & Alice Janousek of Jordan, Juanita & Ed Hartman of Hampton, VA, and Lynette Bisek of New Prague. He is preceded in death by his wife Angie on Aug. 22, 2012, parents, and brother Howard Ruehling.
Services will be held Sunday May 31, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague with Deacon Bob Wagner officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 1:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday. Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery with military honors provided by the New Prague Veterans Honor Guard. Lunch at the New Prague KC Hall will follow.
