Christopher Lee Shimota, age 42, died unexpectedly on November 8, 2024. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Chris was born on January 7, 1982, in Northfield, to Allen and Joyce (Odette) Shimota. He was raised in rural Prior Lake and graduated from Jordan High School in 2000. He worked on the family farm, where he learned skills, including sandblasting and heavy equipment painting, which became his occupation along with welding.

He is survived by his parents, Allen and Joyce (Odette) Shimota; children, Vanessa, Thomas, and Ella; siblings, Chad of Prior Lake, Amy (Tim) Krueger of Jordan, Dr. Megan (Rick) Dillman of Burnsville; his children's mother, Kara Deutsch Shimota of Montgomery. Chris was preceded in death by grandparents, Wilbert & Caroline Shimota, Donald & Virginia Odette; uncle, Larry Odette.

Chris's family and friends will always remember his kind and thoughtful nature.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Veseli, with Father John Lapensky officiating. Visitation will take place at church from 9:00 - 11:00.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made for the benefit of Chris's children.
