Obituary

Nelson, Charles A. “Rocky”, age 74, of New Prague, died peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center.  Rocky was born on November 10, 1943, in West Palm Beach, Florida.  He grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Washburn High School.  He went on to graduate from Dunwoody College of Technology, receiving the distinction of second in his electrical class.  Rocky married DeLores “Dee” Lenzen on May 1, 1965 in Minneapolis.  After Rocky finished his journeymanship, he and Dee opened Helm Electric.  For a period of 10 years, he worked for the City of Burnsville as an electrical inspector. In June 1974, the couple moved to New Prague and shortly after that, while  still owning  Helm Electric, they also purchased and operated Highlander Center, the Laundromat in New Prague.  Rocky was a member of Local 292 and Amblers Car Club Hot Rods.  In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and has been an avid reader all his life.  Rocky enjoyed life when they moved to the country, where he could dabble at hobby farming.

Rocky is survived by his wife, Dee, of New Prague; is best friend and pet dog, Rocky; sisters, Martha (Pat) Alm of Roswell, GA, Christine (Ron) Tidwell of Visalia, CA, Laura Nelson of Sacramento, CA; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, & -nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents.
