Catherine P. Sticha, age 48, of Lamberton, formerly of New Prague and New Market, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at The Lodge on Natchez Ave. in New Market Township.  Cathy was born March 16, 1964 to William J. and Bernadine D. (Kubes) Svoboda in New Prague.  She attended and graduated from the New Prague Public School System.  On March 19, 1983 Cathy married Norbert A. Sticha in New Market, Minnesota. She was  a day care provider in New Market for 15 years and when the family moved to New Prague, she worked as a bartender a the Pioneer Saloon for 5 years;  during this time she also operated C & N Sounds and worked as the DJ.  Most recently she owned and operated C & N Saloon in Lamberton and had just celebrated her 5th anniversary in that capacity.  She was diagnosed with cancer in 2002, fought the cancer and was cancer-free for 5 years, but the cancer returned in August of 2011 with a vengeance.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Norbert; 3 sons, Andrew, Jacob, & Matthew; Siblings, Edward (& Ann) Svoboda, Shirley (& Charlie) Sticha, Dorothy (& Jack) Tuma, Billy (& Kathy) Svoboda, Charlotte (& Vern) Trcka, Betty Svoboda (& Lauren Jirik); mother, Bernadine Svoboda; mother-in-law, Dorothy Sticha; Goddaughter, Karla Kes.  She is preceded in death by her father, William J. Svoboda; father-in-law, Joe Sticha.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10 AM at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Veseli, MN.  Visitation will be Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 4 – 8 PM at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague and on Friday morning from 7:30 – 9:30 AM.
