Catherine Vopatek Novak, age 92, formerly of Belle Plaine, died Feb. 25, 2012 at the Glen Assisted Living in Minnetonka, MN.  Catherine was born November 15, 1919 in New Prague to Frank J. & Catherine (Kohout) Vopatek.  She graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing with her RN degree and married T. Thomas Novak on June 15, 1942.  She and her husband, Thomas owned and operated Novak Pharmacy in Belle Plaine for 37 years before retiring to their homes in Sun Lakes, AZ and on Lake Alexander.

Catherine is survived by daughters, Katherine (& Thomas) Gilbert, Elizabeth Novak, and Barbara (& LeRoy) Hegge; grandchildren, Thomas, Katie, & Barb Gilbert, Luke & Thomas Hegge, and 9 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom, brother Francis Bopatek, and granddaughter, Amy Novak.

A private funeral Mass will be held Monday, Feb. 27, 2012 at St. Wenceslaus Church.  Donations for Masses can be sent to St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague.
