Carol A. Lakatua of North Oaks, MN (recently residing in New Prague, MN) – Passed away November 11, 2017 – at the age of 74. She courageously battled Lewy Body and Alzheimer’s dementia during her last years of life, quietly finding peaceful rest in her final days.  She will be greatly missed.   Her family and friends will long remember Carol’s zest for all games, and her exuberant laughter of a well-made play.

Carol is preceded in death by her loving husband David and survived by sons Tony (Jenn), Jacob (Lovina), daughter Anna (Marty) Herrmann; grandchildren Marty, Charlotte, Libby and Josie Herrmann, Donal, Luca and Keiko Lakatua, Isaac, Levi, Aiko, and Violet Hirose and Ruby Lakatua, and many dear friends and relatives. Carol and her family express their utmost gratitude to the staff at Intrepid Hospice and in Mala Strana’s Little Village (Memory Care Unit), who provided such nurturing care and support to Carol and her family.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Carol on Sunday, December 3 ^rd with a visitation at 1:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Bruzek Funeral Home, 610 Main Street East, New Prague, MN, 56071 (952-758-4949).  Food & gathering to follow.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
