Obituary

Bonnie J. Aebly, age 82, a resident of Heritage Meadows in St. Peter, MN, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by family, on March 1, 2026.

Bonnie was born on June 1, 1943, in Menomonie, Wisconsin, to Dennis and Irene. She courageously battled MS for most of her life, which helped shape the strong-willed woman she became. Bonnie was feisty yet sweet, full of energy, and determined in spirit.

Over the years, she enjoyed many hobbies including crafting, reading, fishing, playing pool and darts, and crocheting in her spare time. Bonnie was a natural caregiver who loved helping those in need. She treasured her role as a grandmother and deeply loved her grandchildren.

Bonnie was actively involved in planning events and activities at her apartment complex, where her friends admired and looked up to her. She especially enjoyed decorating the apartment foyer, adding her personal touch to make it welcoming for everyone.

She is survived by her mother, Irene Dyer; daughter, Karen (Mark) Schroer of Le Center; son, Dennis (Erin) Clough of Mapleton; grandchildren, Victoria, Melissa, and Raymond Schroer; Amanda Klaahsen; Tracy (Kohl) Petri; Bradly Mounce Clough; Aarin and Austin Clough; Gabrielle (Jake) Crouch; Grace Drews; and Jacob Drews; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Denise (Tony) Smisek; Daniel Scheel; Rodney (Shannon) Scheel; Kathy Peterson; Cristal (James) Hatcher; Larry Dahl; and Keven Dahl; along with many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and June Scheel; siblings, Kevin Hinderscheit, Kenneth Hinderscheit, and Larry Clough; sisters-in-law, Debbie Dahl and Kathleen Scheel; and niece, Tanya Westphal.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague, with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. A luncheon will be held afterward at the KC Hall in New Prague.
