Obituary

Elizabeth A. "Betty" Rynda, age 90, of New Prague, died peacefully at home with her family present on Thursday, April 22, 2021.  Betty was born on October 15, 1930 in Lonsdale to Myles and Elizabeth (Herda) Jasan.  She attended elementary school in Lonsdale, graduated from Bethlehem Academy in Faribault, and attained her R.N. degree from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth.  She married Ralph A. Rynda on November 17, 1953 in Lonsdale and the couple made their home in New Prague where they raised their 3 daughters.  A gentle, private woman, Betty, was a devout Catholic, whose faith was important throughout her life.   She put her faith into action as a tireless volunteer for Red Cross blood donations.  She was devoted to her family and served as a Girl Scout leader when her girls were young.  She loved Bridge and belonged to many Bridge clubs throughout her life.  She enjoyed golfing and became an avid player after retirement.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Mary ( Rick) Krenik of Kilkenny, Joan (Ron) Gunderson of New Prague, Jean Rynda (Bill Goetzinger) of Rochester; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Pat Rynda of New Prague and Rita Jasan of Lonsdale.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph on August 25, 2008; brothers, Myles, Melvin, and Don Jasan.

A private family service will be held Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 10 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Father Eugene Theisen officiating.   Private family burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.
