Obituary

Betty Jean Barrington, age 81, of Belle Plaine, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.  Betty Jean was born April 7, 1933 in Blue Rapids, Kansas, to John and Minnie (Ott) Vaught.  She attended Kansas Public Schools and married Wayne  A. Barrington on November 18, 1953 in Marysville, Marshall County, Kansas.  She was a homemaker, and worked at Munsingwear in Montgomery and as a cook at Mystic Lake Casino.  Betty Jean’s Baptist faith was important to her and she knew her Bible inside and out.  She lived for her family.

Betty Jean is survived by her sons, Dwayne of Montgomery, Terry of Belle Plaine, Roger of Montgomery, Gary of Jordan, Jeffrey of Belle Plaine, Jimmy (& Jodie) of Lonsdale, Bobby of Belle Plaine, David of Montgomery, Randy of Belle Plaine; daughters, Beverly Mann of Auburn, NE, Jocelyn (& Mike) Young of Oketo, KS, Susan (& Ron) Tuma of New Prague; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bob (& Janet) Vaught of Conway, MO, Clark (& Channa) Vaught of Tucson, AZ, Brian Vaught of Cochise, AZ, Beth (& Jim) Bailey of Illinois, Nina Kraft of St. Paul.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Barrington on September 30, 2012; her parents; brother, Alen Vaught.

Services will be held at a later date in Kansas with burial occurring at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Blue Rapids, KS.
