Bernice A. Lapic, age 86, of New Prague, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital New Prague. Bernice was born on December 3, 1936 in Montgomery to Frank and Rose (Fierst) Taraba. She graduated from Montgomery High School and shortly after met the man who would capture her heart. She married Richard R. Lapic on November 12, 1960 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery and the couple made their home in New Prague, where they raised their two children. Bernice had a heart of gold and her nurturing, caring personality led her to Queen of Peace Hospital where she worked worked for over 35 years. She and Richard loved ballroom dancing and traveling together, Branson, MO being a favorite destination. Her heart broke when her husband died and left her a widow for 23 years. Her family was the center of her world and her selflessness and compassion will be sorely missed.

Bernice is survived by her children, Duane Lapic of New Prague, Paula Noll of Northfield; grandchildren, Shari Noll of Faribault, Dylan Franek of Mankato; great-grandchildren, Mieka, Miranda, & Ivy; brother, Bob Taraba. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard on June 9, 2000; parents; sister, Gladys Dols.
