Beatrice H. Bowman, age 98, of New Prague, died Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.  Bea was born January 16, 1917, in New Prague, MN, to John J. and Beatrice V. (Mack) Hamer, Sr.  She was raised in New Prague, graduating from New Prague High School.  She worked as a medical records secretary for Queen of Peace Hospital.  Bea was active her entire life, serving on the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery Board well into her 90’s.  She was also a member of St. Wenceslaus CCW and a Eucharist Minister.  In her leisure time, she loved embroidery.

Bea is survived by her son, Jon Bowman of Monterey, CA; grandson, Brian (& Pam) Bowman of Sonora, CA; granddaughter, Jennifer Adams of Windsor, CA; grandchildren, Grace Beatrice, Sarah Rose, Alec, Samuel, and Ayana.  She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, John F. Hamer, Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 28, 2015, at 10:00 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Father Kevin Clinton officiating.  Visitation will take place Sunday from 4 – 6 PM and Monday from 7:30 – 10:00 AM also at the funeral home.  Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery and lunch will follow at the Legion Clubroom.
