Arlene M. Mamer, age 75, of New Prague, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Mayo Health System of New Prague.  Arlene was born on July 20, 1936 in New Prague to James J. and Adeline M. (Bilek) Sindelar. She was raised in Veseli and after her marriage to Leroy F. Mamer on August 6, 1955 also in Veseli, the couple moved to Mountain Home, Idaho for 2 years during Leroy’s time in the Air Force. Arlene moved back to Veseli in 1956 and worked for Dr. Lee Mahowald as a dental assistant in New Prague while Leroy was in Saudi Arabia with the military. The couple moved to New Prague in 1959 and that would be Arlene’s home for the rest of her life.  She worked with her husband at Mamer’s Food Center and from 1970 – 1976 they operated the Red Lion Restaurant in New Prague.  The couple also operated Mamer Catering for private parties as well as Faribault and Northfield Country Clubs, NP Golf Club, and Bracketts Crossing.  Concurrently she sold Bee Line Clothes and became a regional manager for them and was a sales rep for Dyna-Gym exercise equipment.  From 1986 to present Arlene was a realtor for Burnett Realty, Fahey Sales, and Edina Realty.  She was a member of the Minneapolis and National Realtors Associations and was on the queen of Peace Hospital Auxilliary.

Arlene is survived by her husband, Leroy Mamer; 2 sons, Gary (& Kelly) Mamer and Brad (& Christina) Mamer; 1 sister, Beverly (& Robert) Pomije; 5 grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Rollin Sindelar.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague with visitation at Bruzek Funeral Home on Friday, Mar. 9 from 4-8 PM and Saturday morning from 7:30 – 10:30. Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.
