Anthony F. “Tony” Worm, age 94, of New Prague, died January 7, 2015, at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine, MN. Tony was born October 23, 1920, in Jordan, MN to Herbert F. and Gertrude (Boeckman) Worm. After serving in WWII for 4 years, he was a lifelong resident of Scott County, having been raised in Sand Creek Township and having farmed in Helena Township until 1980. Tony was a Scott County Commissioner and served on many boards including Farm Home Administration, Helena Township Board, and Scott County Fair Board. Tony always felt we are here to serve our country. He always emphasized that it is a country of the people, by the people, and for the people. Tony will be remembered by family and friends for his great sense of humor, being a good listener, his kind heart for those less fortunate, and his pride in being a patriotic American.
Tony is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta (Bohnsack) Worm. He is survived by his daughter, Anita, son-in-law, Jerry, a brother and sister, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1300 E. Main S., New Prague, MN on August 26, 2015, at 11:00 AM with visitation at the church from 9:30 – 10:30 AM before the service. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
