Alice M.
Fischer
Nov 17, 1937 — Oct 15, 2026
New Prague, MN
Alice M. Fischer of New Prague, MN passed away peacefully on October 15, 2026 surrounded by her loving family
Alice was born November 17, 1937 to Emil and Julia (Brezina) Kubes in New Prague, MN. She spent her childhood on the family farm and graduated from New Prague High School. She proudly earned her nursing degree, earning LPN and LVN designations and went on to have a nursing career that spanned 50+ years.
She married the love of her life, Jerry Fischer, on June 29, 1974. They began their life together in the Twin Cities before moving to Texas in 1985. They enjoyed their years together playing golf and traveling to spend time with family and friends. Alice especially loved their Thursday date night tradition.
Alice had a deep love for animals and had many special pets as companions over the years. She enjoyed reading, playing cards & watching game shows, along with rooting for the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins.
After Jerry’s passing she moved back to Minnesota to be closer to her sisters and family. Her final residence was at Mala Strana, which brought her full circle to the family homestead.
Survived by sisters Ruth (Tom) Spinler; Julie (John) Koehler; sister-in-law Pat Scharf, sister-in-law Donna Kubes; many loving nieces and nephews; stepdaughters Kim Erickson and Kris Fischer; step grandkids, and great grandkids. Preceded in death by husband Jerry, her parents, and brother Emil.
Hearts full of gratitude to Ann Hoffman for the many hours she spent with Alice along with being her biggest cheerleader; we know Alice cherished that time together. Special thank you to the staff at Mala Strana, the hospice team and to Adam White of Bruzek’s Funeral Home for the comfort, care & love provided in her final moments and journey to heaven.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
