Adeline A. Novak Bauer, age 98, of Maplewood, formerly of New Prague and Faribault, died Monday, February 4, 2013. Adeline was born in Wheatland Township, Rice County, Minnesota to Frank W. & Elizabeth E. (Sevcik) Sticha on January 5, 1915. She was schooled and raised in Veseli, before the family moved to New Prague. She married William Novak in Veseli on September 5, 1933 but he would die just one year later when she was pregnant with her daughter. She moved in with her parents for a time and worked at Dvoark Grocery as a clerk/accountant and at Minnesota Valley Breeders Association as an accountant. She married Albert Bauer at St. Lawrence Church in Faribault in November 1968 and worked at Montgomery Ward, the Eagles Club, and Faribault State Hospital. She was a member of the Faribault Eagle Auxiliary.
Adeline is survived by her daughter, Bernice (& Jerry) Dolinsky of Blaine; step-daughter, Elaine Chavie of Faribault; step-son, Jerome (& Judy) Bauer of Medford; Step-daughters-in-law, Lucille Bauer of Faribault and Blanche Reichert of Farmington; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; many step-grandchildren & step-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both husbands, William Novak on September 30, 1924 and Albert Bauer on October 3, 1980; her parents; brother, Edward E. Sticha; sisters, Julia Novotny and Elsie Svoboda.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Kevin Clinton officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 7th from 4 – 8 PM and Friday morning from 7:30 – 10:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home. Burial will occur in the church cemetery followed by lunch at the KC Hall.
